About Us

The Girls First Community Garden assist with sustainability, education, and empowering environment for the youth and broader community of Henry County. This initiative promotes environmental stewardship and serves as a catalyst for social equity and community resilience, supported by significant collaborations.

Our Objectives

  • Environmental Education: To educate youth and community members about

sustainable agriculture, climate change, and environmental stewardship.

  • Food Security: To provide fresh, locally-grown produce to underserved populations,

addressing food insecurity in Henry County.

  • Youth Empowerment: To engage young girls in hands-on gardening, fostering

leadership, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility.

  • Community Engagement: Strengthening community bonds through collaborative gardening and educational workshops.

Our Mission

Collaborate with the local Henry County Branch, NAACP, the Henry/Clayton Section of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), and Top Ladies of Distinction (TPLOD) to plan the community garden. This group will provide guidance, consultation, and volunteerism for the initiative in environmental justice, health and wellness, and community beautification efforts.
